Titus Engel, born 1975 in Zurich, studied musicology and philosophy in Zurich and Berlin as well as conductin with Christian Kluttig at Dresden Conservatory. As assistant to Sylvain Cambreling, Peter Rundel, Marc Albrecht, Lothar Zagrosek and Markus Stenz he has conducted rehearsals at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opéra de Paris, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, WDR Radio Symphony Orchestra and BR Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has been musical director with ensemble courage Dresden since 2000 which has developed into one of the most renown young ensembles in Germany. He regularly guest conducts the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, Collegium Novum Zurich and Ensemble Resonanz Hamburg. This season, he will debut with Ensemble Modern and Ensemble Recherche.
