Hearing Voices, the project of the University of Sussex and composer Edward Dudley Hughes, deals with the growing dominance of technology, which is causing increasing difficulty in differentiating between living beings and technical productions. Based on the phonogram of a schizophrenic, this opera expounds the problem of the use of technology on the person and his illness, which leads to his complete depersonalisation.
