06. 07. 2006 ZUGabe: Music Theatre on the Stadtbahn at the opening of the festival
There will be an encore right at the start of the World New Music Festival:
On the opening day, the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart will be presenting four recitals during a half-hour trainride on the Stadtbahn – absurd, tragic and funny miniature pieces of music theatre by Georges Aperghis, the French master of virtuoso atmosphere.
There will be three rides on Friday afternoon, 14 July at 16:30, 17:30 and 18:30 hours. Starting point will be the lower platform of tram number 15 (direction Ruhbank/Fernsehturm) at Charlottenplatz.

The Neue Vocalsolisten are an internationally well-known ensemble for experimental new vocal music and will be performing three times at the World New Music Festival. On the first weekend (16 and 17 July) they will participate in the German premiere of Julio Estrada’s music theatre Murmullos del páramo. On 22 July together will SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, they will give a world premiere of Wölfli Kantata by Georges Aperghis. Another performance will take place on 26 July, presenting Sandeep Bhagwati’s Atish-e-Zaban / Fires of the Tongue, a musical version of poems by Urdu poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz.
